Two days at the heart of the blue economy

On October 20 and 21, 2026, 3D Concrete attended the Blue Tech Show in Canet-en-Roussillon, an event dedicated to the blue economy, maritime innovation and solutions designed to promote more sustainable uses of marine and coastal environments.

For its fourth edition, the event brought together businesses, startups, local authorities and industry experts at Les Voiles Rouges to explore topics ranging from life sciences and eco-design to ports and emerging maritime applications.

Showcasing the possibilities of 3D concrete printing

At our exhibition stand, several components and demonstrators gave visitors a closer look at the potential of 3D concrete printing.

Sculptural volumes, textured surfaces, reliefs and cavities highlighted the geometric freedom offered by this additive manufacturing technology.

On some pieces, the successive printed layers remain visible, becoming an integral part of their visual identity.

Beyond aesthetics, these shapes demonstrate how precisely a component's geometry can be adapted to its function and environment.

Complex geometries designed for marine environments

The maritime sector offers particularly promising applications for this technology.

Concrete extrusion makes it possible to manufacture structures featuring reliefs, openings and cavities that would be difficult to achieve using conventional manufacturing methods.

These characteristics can be designed according to specific applications and target species.

3D Concrete is already developing 3D-printed concrete marine structures designed to support marine biodiversity, with geometries adapted to marine fauna and flora, as well as other applications related to coastal resilience.

This approach had already been showcased during a previous participation in the Blue Tech Show.

Custom manufacturing driving marine innovation

The ability to extrude concrete directly from a digital 3D model provides considerable design freedom.

Eliminating the need for dedicated molds simplifies the production of one-off components and allows geometries to be quickly adapted to project requirements.

This is one of the key advantages of custom 3D concrete printing: shapes are no longer dictated solely by manufacturing constraints but can be designed around their intended function.

This approach is particularly relevant when developing innovative solutions for highly specific environments such as marine ecosystems.

An event creating opportunities for new projects

Participating in the Blue Tech Show also provides an opportunity to discuss our solutions with maritime professionals, exchange ideas with specialized companies and meet potential future partners.

The event was specifically designed to encourage connections between businesses, local authorities, researchers, innovators and organizations committed to the blue economy transition.

These two days allowed us to showcase our expertise and, above all, explore new applications where 3D concrete printing can provide technical, durable and customized solutions.

Continuing to explore new applications

Having already participated in the Blue Tech Show in 2024, 3D Concrete continues to develop solutions for marine and coastal environments.

Furniture, underwater structures, marine biodiversity support structures and technical components: each new project provides an opportunity to further explore the possibilities of 3D concrete printing.

Our approach sees innovation not as an end in itself, but as a way to rethink the design and manufacturing of objects and structures that respond to real-world needs.
